1. Navigation Safety Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: Lockmaster AI is an informational tool only. It must not be used as a primary or sole source of navigation guidance. Water levels, lock status, depth readings, and all other data may be delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable. Always consult official sources and exercise your own seamanship judgement.

Lockmaster AI accepts no liability for: vessel grounding, collision, or damage; personal injury or loss of life; property damage; costs arising from navigation decisions made using this service.

The SOS panel displays publicly available emergency contact numbers for informational purposes only. In a genuine emergency, call 999 (UK) directly. Do not rely solely on this application in life-threatening situations.

2. Privacy Policy (GDPR)

Lockmaster AI is operated by Vallis Aurea d.o.o. We process data in accordance with EU GDPR and UK GDPR.

2a. What We Collect

Location data — GPS coordinates used to display your position and fetch nearby data. Not stored permanently.
Device UUID — randomly generated, stored in localStorage. No personally identifiable information. Used for session conversation history only.
Community reports — report type, optional note (max 300 chars), approximate location, timestamp. Fully anonymous.
Partner enquiries — name, email, venue details. Used solely to respond to your enquiry.

2b. What We Do Not Collect

No user accounts or passwords
No advertising trackers or analytics cookies
No data sold or shared for marketing
No permanent conversation log storage

2c. Third-Party Services

Anthropic (Claude AI) — AI assistant. Location context sent per query. Privacy policy
ElevenLabs — voice synthesis, active only when voice mode is on. Privacy policy
OpenStreetMap / Overpass API — map and waterway data
Environment Agency (UK) — river level monitoring
Stadia Maps — map tiles (standard IP logging applies)
GloFAS (EU) — European river forecast data

2d. Your Rights

Under GDPR: access, rectification, erasure of partner enquiry data; withdrawal of GPS consent via browser settings. Contact us below.

Community reports are fully anonymous. We cannot identify or delete individual reports on request.

3. Terms of Use

You are responsible for your own navigation decisions and vessel safety
Do not use as a substitute for official charts, licences, or required safety equipment
Do not submit false or malicious community reports
Service provided "as is" without warranty

4. Independence Notice

Lockmaster AI is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Canal & River Trust, Environment Agency, Inland Waterways Association, or any waterway authority.

5. Partner Listings

Partner listings are paid placements. Inclusion does not constitute endorsement. Facility information is provided by partners and has not been independently verified.
